It is a sad day for creative crafters...

I will forever be thankful that I found Make the Cut and will continue to sing it's praises. However, after finding out that Provo Craft has filed a complaint against the creator of Make the Cut and anyone affiliated with Make the Cut I've decided to delete some of my videos from youtube as Provo Craft is going after anyone who is making videos showing how to use MTC with your Cricut products. I will be making new videos soon, so stay tuned. I am boycotting anything to do with Provo Craft or Cricut. I've spent hundreds of dollars on my Cricut Expresssion, cartridges, Gypsy, Cricut Design Studio, blades, mats, etc. but will not in any way promote them from now on!

UPDATE: I've decided to put my original video tutorials back online! Provo Craft may as well sue Windows as well because we have to use their Snipping Tool or the Paint feature to capture an image to bring into Make the Cut. Also SCAL or Sure Cuts A Lot has the same exact capability as far as importing images.

You can download and read the PDF Complaint that they have against the creator of Make the Cut.
There are many other cutters out there and more and more ways that we don't have to depend upon only Provo Craft for our creative cutting projects. Provo Craft wants a monopoly on anything to do with cutting paper and designing with paper using a cutter. If we don't stand up and boycott them and refuse to be put down and manipulated into purchasing only from them, what's next?

Well, Provo Craft the information is out there. How we don't have to keep purchasing your mats! How we don't have to buy your cartridges anymore due to the fact that we can cut any image from anywhere on the web or that we design!!!  Also, our designs are not sub standard as you state in your complaint, otherwise you wouldn't be running scared!!!

There will always be a way for us to use our creative talents and Provo Craft will find out soon enough that they have cut their own throat!
" Have a blessed day!"

  1. It's not the first time they have "cut their own throat" and I am sure it won't be the last. Mostly because most folks won't stand up for what is right. Kudo's to you for sharing your honest opinion! PS, this is why I went with a Gazelle in the first place and am still checking out the eCraft.

  2. Question, are they filing a complaint against SCAL as well or just MTC? I'm with you Connie! None of us support pc having a monopoly! I hope they lose this battle.

  3. So far the lawsuit is only against MTC, however I can see them going after others as well. Unless we take a stand they'll run all of us over.

  4. Then it seems to me that they're just upset that users of MTC have discovered a few tricks to getting a hold of some of the cartridge images, from reading the complaint it seemed they were blaming MTC for enabling users to copy cartridge images which in turn enables them to sell these images. But wouldn't it only be that user who is at fault for choosing to sell copy written images? I guess instead oh whining I should just be asking how do we take a stand? I love my cricut but I will fight for my ability to use it to its fullest and in a way that is most useful to me.

  5. Coni I feel the same way. I havent been able to do much crafting since the suit was filed.I have been removed from the MB for siding with MTC. Not that I care, I stopped going there when MTC first came on the MB, that was when I bought it.Just hate what they say over there.
Thanks for posting your message, we all agree with you

  6. Connie,I am so proud of you for your courageous stand and outspoken support of MTC. I, too, declared my refusal to purchase any more PC products when this suit started. I'm already looking at the Gazelle for a future purchase.

  7. Yay for the return of your wonderful videos! If I had a blog I'd be right there with you taking a stand. I'm so glad I purchased MTC because now I really don't need to buy another thing from provo craft! I hope it bites them hard.

  9. Pc's actions are what gave me the final push to purchase MTC - and I'm so glad I did. Love your videos. Thanks

  10. Just found your site and book marked it! Thanks for sharing your cuts. Love the monkey. I have an E and love it but the carts are so expensive to keep buying, I have 9 or 10. Just bought MTC and trying to learn it. Seems easy. My question is what to do if I want to sell some of my cards, which I have been asked to do. I thought MTC might be an answer for me. I love the program and agree about PC's actions - guess they will have to go after SCAL also! This is all news to me. I don't go to the Cricut forum much anymore cause it has gotten sooooo slow!

  11. Ok, how do u use the Paint option to create these files in MTC. I do not own and do not plan to put out mega bucks for Windows 7, so any other way of creating these cut files (using paint) would be preferable. Thank you. cmsmith46580@gmail.com
