Import an Image from CDS to MTC using the Snipping Tool

Learn how to capture an image in your Cricut Design Studio program (purchased or trial version) using the Windows Snipping Tool. You can then save that captured image as a gif or jpeg to be imported into Make the Cut using the Twain Feature.

  1. reasons. Thanks.I am so glad you brought the videos back for snipping. ? lets say on Create a Critter #52-Birdie at 3"- can I bring in all the layers (5 pieces total) at the same time so that I can keep them the same size or do I have to go one at a time. If I have to go one at a time, how do I get the wing, beak, flower and the top layer of birdie sized correctly? I am a real novice at this and really need help. I am asking you here rather than on MTC for obvious

  2. Donna, I'm not familiar with that one, but I would say bring them in at the same time.

  6. Oooooohhhhhhhhh Connie!!! You have made my day!!!! I have been working on this since December, and the way I was doing it was working, but it was alot harder, time consuming, and the pictures didn't turn out as good as they do by doing it your way!!! Thanks for sharing this with all of us, I know I have found this very helpful!!! You are my blessing of the day!!! And go you for telling provo craft where they can take it!!! I am a retailer, and a couple months ago, I decided to not even carry their products, as you can get cricut cartridges cheaper on ebay then you can at wholesale from them!!! I totally agree with you!!! Lets show them how much more cre8tive we are, they can't stop us!!! =) Lots of love!!!

  8. Thanks for the great tutorial. I found that I didn't have to save the file in snippy. I was able to copy directly from it to MTC into pixel trace. It worked just fine.

What I couldn't figure out is how to make the image and the background different colors in preview. If I chose white, both would be white. I may have a different version of Design Studio than you. or is there a trick to it?

Thanks again for the great tutorial.
